Akiva and I were just talking about a similar idea that I was reading about in Dr Becky Kennedy’s book, Good Inside. She talks about seeing your child’s behavior as a window into what’s going on inside of them. A window to their feelings and what they are experiencing. Similar to what you call “layers of living”. Often a child acting out is a child who is having a hard time or in pain and tuning in to that and responding to the deeper feelings and emotions the child is experiencing can help them feel supported and loved and can bring you together in a more connected and deep way. Really interesting to think about this as a way to see Hashem in our lives as well. Looking for the deeper messages in the events and occurrences in our lives and connecting in that way.
